One of the saddest things I see is women who no longer enjoy eating.
Every meal has become a decision. Should I eat this? Is this inflammatory? Is this organic enough? Is it gluten free? Dairy free? Too many carbs? Too much fruit? Too much fat?
Before long, food isn’t nourishing anymore. It’s exhausting.
Autoimmune disease already asks enough of you.
Don’t let food become another source of chronic stress. This affects your nervous system, cortisol, and peace. None of which contribute to healing, in fact, the opposite is true.
We make thousands of decisions every day. If every meal requires research, every grocery trip creates anxiety, every restaurant feels stressful, nutrition itself becomes a source of stress. Stress is not nourishing.
Create a Personal Nutrition Framework
For example: Instead of asking twenty questions every meal… ask only these three:
- Does this nourish me?
- Does my body generally feel good after eating it?
- Is this moving me toward the healthy life I want?
That’s it. Simple. Repeatable. Grace-filled.
Nourishment Over Restriction
Our bodies are incredibly intelligent. Every bite of food communicates with our cells.
Whole, nutrient-dense foods provide vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, healthy fats, quality protein, and fiber that help support normal immune function, gut health, and overall wellness.
Rather than asking, “What do I need to eliminate?” Ask, “How can I nourish my body well today?”
A Faith Perspective
When I think about nutrition, I’m reminded that our bodies are gifts from God and God isn’t the author of confusion.
Scripture tells us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
Caring for them isn’t about striving for perfection. It’s an act of gratitude and stewardship.
Sometimes we’ve made nutrition so complicated that we’ve forgotten eating is one of God’s gifts.
He created food to sustain us, gather us around tables, celebrate, and nourish our bodies.
Peace belongs at the table too.
One Simple Action Step
Choose ONE meal each day where you intentionally slow down.
No phone.
No guilt.
No food rules.
Just gratitude.
Enjoy the meal.
Food Is Information—Not Magic
Every bite sends information to the body. But one meal doesn’t heal you. One meal doesn’t harm you.
Healing is the accumulation of thousands of ordinary choices over months and years.
